FY2010 -02 <br />6 <br />7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH <br />8 AMENDING THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />9 TITLE 2 ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL, CHAPTER 2.40 RECORDS MANAGEMENT, <br />10 CHAPTER 2.50 BOROUGH CLERK, SECTION 2.50.020 DUTIES, AND CHAPTER 2.55 <br />11 ENGINEERING AND FACILITIES DEPARTMENT, SECTION 2.55.010 ENGINEERING AND <br />12 FACILITIES DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR <br />13 <br />14 WHEREAS, the existing Records Management code was put in place in 1975 with very minor <br />15 changes in 1979 and 1998; and <br />16 <br />17 WHEREAS, the staff determined the need to bring the Records Management code into <br />18 compliance with recent and existing laws and regulations; and <br />19 <br />20 WHEREAS, the old KIBC 2.25.200 is being repealed in its entirety and a new Chapter 2.40 is <br />21 being established. The new chapter includes policies that reflect industry best practices; and <br />22 <br />23 WHEREAS, staff research and proposal considered Alaska Statutes, codes from other <br />24 municipalities, and consultation with Borough staff; and <br />25 <br />26 WHEREAS, this ordinance was also reviewed by the Borough Attorney for compliance. <br />27 <br />28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND <br />29 BOROUGH THAT: <br />30 <br />31 Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a part of <br />32 the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances; <br />33 <br />34 Section 2: The Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances Title 2, Chapter 2.25 is hereby <br />35 repealed and Chapter 2.40 is hereby enacted as follows: <br />36 <br />37 Title 2 <br />38 ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL <br />39 Chapters: <br />40 2.05 Bonding of Officers and Employees <br />41 2.10 Appointment of Officers, Commissions, and Committees <br />42 2.15 Personnel <br />43 2.20 Borough Mayor <br />44 2.25 Borough Assembly <br />45 2.30 Rules of the Assembly <br />46 2.35 Conflict of Interest <br />47 2.40 Repealed Records Management <br />48 2.45 Borough Manager <br />49 2.50 Borough Clerk <br />50 2.55 Engineering and Facilities Department <br />51 2.60 Resource Management Officer <br />52 2.65 Borough Attorney <br />53 2.70 Finance Department <br />Kodiak Island Borough Ordinance No. FY2010 -02 <br />Page 1 of 12 <br />
