AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING RESOLUTION NUMBER
68 -37 -R ADOPTED BY THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY NOVEMBER 7, 1968, AUTHORIZ
ING THE BOROUGH CHAIRMAN TO BORROW THE SUM OF FORTY THOUSAND and
NO /100ths ($40,000.00) DOLLARS FROM THE NATIONAL BANK OF ALASKA
FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FIRE TRUCK
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly adopted
Ordinance 68 -23 -0 creating a fire protection service area within
the Kodiak Island Borough outside of the City of Kodiak and
WHEREAS, at the assembly meeting of October 17, 1968,
a motion was duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted empowerin
the Borough Chairman to take all legal action necessary for the
purchase of a fire truck for the sum of THIRTY -THREE THOUSAND AND
NO /100ths ($33,000.00) DOLLARS plus shipping costs with additional
costs for hose and other equipment in the sum of ONE THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY -FIVE AND NO /100ths ($1,875.00) DOLLARS and
WHEREAS, this sum was borrowed from the National Bank
of Alaska at the rate of five and one -half per cent (5 -1/2%) per
annum and the Borough Assembly by Resolution 68 -37 -R, adopted
November 7, 1968, authorized the Borough Chairman to borrow the
sum of FORTY THOUSAND AND NO /100ths ($40,000.00) DOLLARS from the
National Bank of Alaska at five and one -half per cent (5 -1/2%) per
annum payable in five (5) annual installments plus interest with
the first payment to be made on the 15th day of November, 1969,
and to execute a note therefor to be signed on behalf of the Kodi
Island Borough by its Chairman and attested to by its Clerk who
were then duly authorized to execute such documents.
BE IT ORDAINED that Resolution Number 68 -37 -R be and the
same is hereby confirmed and ratified and any action taken pursuan+
thereto by the Borough Chairman and Borough Clerk in borrowing the

sum of LfORTY THOUSAND and No /100ths ($40,000.00) DOLLARS at the
rate of five and one -half per cent (5 -1/2 %) per annum payable in
five (5) annual installments plus interest with the first payment
to be made on the 15th day of November, 1969, for the purchase of
a fire truck and the execution of the note in connection therewith
are hereby confirmed and ratified.
