1968-18 Amending, Repealing, Reenacting KIBC Chapter 4 ElectionsAN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS AND DELETIONS WITH RESPECT TO CHAPTER 4 of THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS WHICH DEALS WITH ELECTIONS BY REPEALING AND RE- ENACTING CHAPTER 4, SECTIONS 6, 17 AND 18 THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly of Kodiak, State of Alaska, as follows: Section 1: Chapter 4, Section 6 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances is repealed and re- enacted as follows: "Section 6. Precincts: The following precincts and polling places are hereby established for Borough elections and may be changed from time to time as deemed necessary by the Borough Assembly by resolution: Precinct No. 10 Port Lions Port Lions Community Center, Port Lions, Alaska 11 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NUMBER 68 -18 -0 1 Kodiak City Hall, Benson Avenue Kodiak, Alaska 2 Kodiak Harbormaster's Building Marine Way, Kddiak,Alaske" 3 Kodiak National Guard Armory, 6th Street, Kodiak,Alask< 4 Alitak Akhiok School, Akhiok, Alaska 5 Karluk Karluk School, Karluk, Alaska 6 Larson Bay Larson Bay Community Ha: Larson Bay, Alaska 7 Mission Road East Elementary School Building, Kodiak, Alaska 8 Old Harbor Larry's Theater, Old Harbor, Alaska 9 Ouzinkie Ouzinkie School, OuzinkLE Alaska Page One, ORDINANCE NO. 68 -18 -0 Precinct Name Polling Place Uganik Bay Uganik Bay Trading Co., Uganik Bay, Alaska Alaska Administrative Code and in the Ordinances and Resolution. of the Kodiak Island Borough, and the emergency regulations of the Secretary of State. Section 2: Chapter 4, Section 17 of the Kodiak Island Borough Coded Ordinances is repealed and re- enacted as follows: "Section 17. Qualifications of voters: Any person may vote who (1) is a citizen of the United States; (2) has passed his 19th birthday; (3) has been a resident of the State for at least one year just before the election; (4) has been a resident of the Kodiak Island Borough for at least thirty (30) days prior to the election; and (5) can speak or read the English language unless prevented by physical disability." Section 3: Chapter 4, Section 18 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions is repealed and re- enacted as follows: The boundaries of all precincts are as defined in the 11 Section 18. Nominations: Candidates for assemblymen outside the City of Kodiak shall be nominated by petition of ten (10) qualified voters of the Kodiak Island Borough who are residents outside any city. Candidates for Borough Chairmen and for the Borough School Board shall be nominated by petition of ten (10) qualified voters of the Kodiak Island Borough. All nominating petitions for Borough Assembly members, Borough Chairmen and Borough School Board members shall be filed in the Borough office for acceptance at least fifteen (15) days before the date set for the election."
