1968-11 Amending Chapter 5 to Allow Class "J"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER FIVE (5), SUB- CHAPTER FIVE (5), SECTION THREE (3) OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS, THE BUILDING CODE, TO ALLOW CLASS "J" OCCUPANCY BUILDINGS TO BE CONSTRUCTED WITHOUT CONTINUOUS MASONRY FOUNDATION that: Section 1: Chapter Five (5), Sub - Chapter Five (5), Section Three (3) of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions, The Building Code, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: ATTEST: IV BO'• GH CLERK KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NUMBER 68 -11 -0 BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly Section 3 Building Code: The regulations of the 1964 edition of the Uniform Building Code as published by the International Conference of Building Officials is hereby adopted as the regulations governing the construction of building and other structures in the Borough with the following exception: 1. Section 2806(b)(3) thereof is hereby amended to read as follows: (3) A one -story wood frame building when not used for human occupancy and which does not exceed 1,000 square feet in area, located in a conservation or unclassified zone, may be constructed without masonry or concrete founda- tion if the walls are supported on a foundatio of an approved wood or treated pile design. Section 2: This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED this 1st day of August, 1968.
