WHEREAS, AS 07.15.340 empowers the Borough to enact a
zoning ordinance and provides for its administration, enforcement
and amendment, and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has pursuant thereto
which
adopted Chapter 5 of its Code of Ordinances and Resolutions, wh
provides for planning and zoning provisions and procedure,
WHEREAS, according to the comprehensive plan adopted by
20 Twenty-one (21),
the Kodiak Island Borough, Lots Twenty ( )�

Twenty-two (22), Twenty -three (23), y
(25), Twenty -six (26), Twenty -seven (27) and Twenty -eight (28) of
the Bryan Thorsheim Subdivision of Lot Eighteem (18) Block
Sixteen (16) Kodiak Townsite have been classified as R -3 and
AREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning
Commission has recommended that said lots be d classifiessfr from
R -3 to business as the property is being use
since it is surrounded by business property and that it has been
determined that the public necessity,
convenience, general welfare
and good zoning practice requires said reclassification,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly
of the Kodiak Island Borough that Lots Twenty (20), Twenty -one
(21), Twenty-two (22), Twenty -three (23),
Twenty -four (24) , Went:.
five (25), Twenty -six (26), Twenty-seven (27) and Twenty -eight
(28) of the Bryan Thorsheim Subdivision of Lot Eighteen (18)
Block Sixteen (16) Kodiak T$Mnsite now classified as R -3 be and
the same is hereby reclassified as Business and that notice of

this Ordinance be given by publication in the Kodiak Mirror seven
(7) days pr,}or to the second reading of this ordinance and that a
public hearing be held thereon on the date of the second reading
and this Ordinance shall become effective at the expiration of
thirty (30) days after its adoption.
First reading and approval date: January 18, 1968.
Second reading, public hearing and passage date: February 1, 1968.
