KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
ORDINANCE NUMBER 67 -19 -0
AN ORDINANCE REZONING LOTS 19 AND 20, BLOCK 18,
OF THE TOWNSITE OF KODIAK, FROM "WATER ORIENTED
BUSINESS" TO "BUSINESS ".
WHEREAS, AS 07.15.340 empowers the Borough to enact a
zoning ordinance and provides for its administration, enforcement
and amendment, and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has pursuant thereto
adopted Chapter 5 of its Code of Ordinances and Resolutions, which
provides for planning and zoning provisions and procedure, and,
WHEREAS, according to the comprehensive plan adopted by
the Kodiak Island Borough, Lots Nineteen (19) and Twenty (20),
Block Ei hteen (18) of the Tnwn�;tP Kodiak, have been c =f'-•A
"Water Oriented Business" under the Urban Renewal Project, and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has been petitioned by
M. M. Owens, Harry Gottschalk, C. R. Wilson, and Ronald Ball,
adjoining property owners, for a reclassification of said property
from "Water Oriented Business" to "Business ", and,
WHEREAS, the proposed reclassification has been approved
by the Planning and Zoning Commission on October 25, 1967, and said
reclassification has recommended to the Assembly, and the
Assembly being fully advised in the premises and it is determined
that the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good
zoning practice requires the said reclassification,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly of
the Kodiak Island Borough that Lots Nineteen (19) and Twenty (20),
Block Eighteen (18), of the Townsite of Kodiak, now classified as
"Water Oriented Business" under the Urban Renewal Project, be and
the same is hereby reclassified as "Business ", and that notice of
this ordinance be given in the Kodiak Mirror seven (7) days prior
to the second reading of this ordinance and that public hearing be
held thereon on the date of the second reading, and this ordinance
shall become effective at the expiration of thirty (30) days after
its adoption.
First Reading and Approval Date: November 2, 1967
Second Reading, Public Hearing and Passage: November 16, 1967
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly on the
16th day of November, 1967.
