ORDINANCE NO. 66 -2
WHEREAS, Section 07.15.340, Alaska Statutes, empowers
the BOROUGH to enact a zoning ordinance and provide for its admin -t
WHEREAS, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH has pursuant thereto

N. 34° 46 W. a distance of 264.78 along the
boundary of U.S. Survey No. 1396, as accepted by
the U.S. Surveyor General, Alaska, February 24, 1922,
to Corner No. Two (2); thence S. 55° 15 W. a
distance of 1300.00 to Corner No. Three (3);
thence S. 34° 45 E., a distance of 406.97
more or less, to Corner No. Four (4); thence N.
41° 00 E., a distance of 394.31 to Corner No.
Five (5); thence S. 39° 00 E., a distance of 23.02
to Corner No. Six (6); thence N. 51° 00 E.,
a distance of 918.73 to Corner No. One (1), the
place of beginning, containing 9.4 acres, more or
less,
WHEREAS, Section 23 of Ordinance No. 64 -5, provides that
the BOROUGH ASSEMBLY may by ordinance amend, supplement, modify,
repeal or otherwise change the zoning regulations and boundaries
of districts, and,
WHEREAS, according to the comprehensive plan adopted by
the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, the following described parcel of land
was zoned as conservation:
And,
WHEREAS, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH PLANNING & ZONING
COMMISSION has recommended that due to public necessity, convenien4e,
general welfare and good zoning practices, and since there is a

need and justification for a low -rent housing area and since such
an area complies with the comprehensive plan that the above -- described
parcel of land be recommended for approval for changing the zoning;
from conservation to R -3, under Section 23 of Ordinance No. 64 -5,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
of the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that the above -- described parcel of
land now classified as conservation be and the same is hereby,

reclassified as R -3, and that notice of public hearing be given

of this ordinance by publication in the Kodiak Mirror one (1) week'
prior to the second reading thereof and that a public hearing be
1 held thereon on the date of the second reading and that publica-
tion of this ordinance shall be made by posting a copy hereof on
the borough assembly bulletin board for a period of ten days foll-
owing its passage and approval and publishing a resume' hereof in
the Kodiak Mirror, together with a Notice of Public Hearing thereo4
and mailing a copy of the same to the Kodiak Mirror. /
