ORDINANCE NUMBER 65- 8
WHEREAS, Section 07.15.340, Alaska Statutes, empowers
the Borough to enact a zoning ordinance and provide for its adminis
tration, enforcement and amendment; and
WHEREAS, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH has pursuant thereto
f Ordi ance No. 64 -5 provides that
the Borough Assembly may by ordinanc= amend, supplement, modify,
repeal or otherwise change th zo •ng regulations and boundaries
of districts, and
WHEREAS, according the comprehensive plan adopted

by the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, Lots Twelve (12) through Nineteen
(19) of the ThorsheimIktreit Subdivision of Block Sixteen (16)
of the KODIAK TOWNSITJ s zoned R -3, and
WHEREAS, h KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH has been petitioned
by GERALD REDI' for reclassification of Lots Twelve (12) throug

WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has been petitioned
from time to time by numerous owners of said property lying within
said area for a reclassification to business and there are now

numerous businesses located in said area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly
of the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, that Lots Twelve (12) through Ninete
(19) of the Thorsheim Street Subdivision of Block Sixteen (16),
Kodiak Townsite, now classified as R -3, and that property from Lot
Twenty -three (23), Block Two (2), Allman Addition to and including
Lot Three (3) of U.S. Survey No. 3098, on the left side of Mill Ba
Road, now classified as RU, be and the same is hereby reclassified
as business, and that notice of public hearing be given of this:.
request for reclassification by publication in the Kodiak Mirror,
one (1) week prior to the second reading of this ordinance and tha
public hearing be held thereon on that date, and that publication
of this ordinance shall be made by posting a copy hereof on the
Borough Assembly bulletin board for a period of ten (10) days foll
owing its passage and approval.
