FY1965-6 Zoning Ordinance for Baranof Heights SubdivisionKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
ORDINANCE NUMBER 65- !A
WHEREAS, Section 07.15.340, Alaska Statutes, empowers the
Borough to enact a zoning ordinance and provide for its administra
tion, enforcement and amendment; and,
WHEREAS, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH has pursuant thereto
adopted Ordinance No. 64 -5, and
WHEREAS, Section 23 of Ordinance No. 64 -5 provides that
the Borough Assembly may by ordinance amend, supplement, modify,
repeal or otherwise change the zoning regulations and boundaries
of districts and
WHEREAS,: ac rding to the comprehensive plan adopted by
the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH certain properties were classified as
residential unclassified areas, and
WHEREAS, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH has been petitioned by
BARANOF HEIGHTS, INC., for a reclassification of that portion of
U.S. Survey No. 1396, known and described as BARANOF HEIGHTS SUBDI'
ISION from residential unclassified to R -2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly of
the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that that portion of U.S. Survey No.

1396 encompassed in the plat of Baranof Heights Subdivision now
classified residential unclassified be and the same is hereby
reclassified R -2, and that notice of public hearing be given of
this request for reclassification by publication in the Kodiak
Mirror one week prior to the second reading of this ordinance and
that public hearing be held thereon on that date, and that publica
tion of this ordinance shall be made by posting a copy hereof on

1 the Borough Assembly bulletin board for a period of ten (10) days
following its passage and approval.
