ITEM TITLE: urrchase and Installation of
Enclosed Cab for D-7 Dozer, Kodiak Island Borough
Landfill.
SUMMARY STATEMENT
Quotations were requested from several manufacturers for the
supply and installation of a fully enclosed operators cah
for the landfill's D-7 dozer. This piece of equipment is
utilized continually at the Landfill/Baler Facility tc
produce and spread cover material, push the burn pile and
perform general earthmoving and snow removal activities.
With the open cab, the operator is currently exposed to a
Cold Stress Physical Agent Hazard as defined in AS
18.60.067. In consideration of local business preference
and all quotes recieved, Yukon Equipment is low bidder in
the amount of $8,010.

RE: PURCHASE/INSTALLATION OF ENCLOSED CAB ON D-7 DOZER
Quotations were requested from several manufactures for the
supply and installation of a fully enclosed operators cab
for the model D-7 dozer. The dozer is utilized continually
at the Kodiak Island landfill facility to produce and spread
cover material, push the burn pile and perform general
earthmoving and snow removal activities. Operation of this
piece of equipment in inclement weather exposes the operator
to a Cold Stress Physical Agent Hazard as defined by AS
18.60.067.
Three bidders responded to the Engineering/Facilities
Department request. Quotations are summarized as follows:

* For comparison purposes, in consideration of the 10%
local business preference allowance, the adjusted
"price" is $8,809.20.

Acceptance of Yukon Equipment's bid of $8,010 is
recommended.
