Introduced by: Borough Manager <br /> Requested by: Planning and Zoning <br /> I Commission <br /> Drafted by: Community Development <br /> Director <br /> 3 Introduced: 01/08/2015 <br /> 4 Public Hearing: 01122/2015 <br /> Adopted: 01/22/2015 <br /> b <br /> 7 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH <br /> 8 ORDINANCE NO, FY2015.09 <br /> 9 <br /> 10 AN ORDINANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND <br /> 11 BOROUGH REZONING LOT 1, ALAGNAK ACRES SUBDIVISION <br /> 12 FROM R2-TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICT TO B- <br /> 13 BUSINESS ZONING DISTRICT (P&Z CASE NO. 15-007) <br /> 14 <br /> 15 WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission received a request to rezone Lot 1, <br /> 16 Alagnak Acres Subdivision; and <br /> 17 <br /> 18 WHEREAS, at an advertised public hearing, consistent with Kodiak Island Borough <br /> 19 Code 17.205.040, the Commission considered the merits of the rezone request; and <br /> 20 <br /> 2I WHEREAS, the Commission votes[ to recommend to the Borough Assembly that this lot <br /> 22 be rezoned finding that the public necessity, convenience, general welfare, and good <br /> 23 zoning practice would be enhanced by such action; and <br /> 24 <br /> 25 WHEREAS, the Commission hereby recommends that this rezone request be reviewed <br /> 26 and approved by the Borough Assembly. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND <br /> 29 BOROUGH that: , <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Section 1: This ordinance is not of a general and permanent nature and shall not <br /> 32 become a part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Section 2: Lot 1, Alagnak Acres Subdivision is hereby rezoned from R2-Two-family <br /> 35 Residential Zoning District to B-Business Zoning District. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Section 3: The findings of the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning <br /> 38 Commission are confirmed as follows: <br /> 39 <br /> 40 1. This rezone is consistent with recent Borough Assembly action approving a <br /> 41 Comprehensive Plan amendment that changed the Future Land Use Designation <br /> 42 of the parcel from Rural Residential to Commercial/Business. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 2.
